| If you enjoy the pleasures of freshwater boating, you need freshwater anodes instead of boat zincs. Magnesium anodes are designed specifically for fresh water - because the water does not contain so much salt, boat electrolysis is naturally slower that in saltwater, therefore magnesium anodes are suitable, however do not use magnesium anodes in salt water, this will result in the freshwater anode deteriorating quickly and potentially leave your important boat part open to corrosion.
