| Any hose used on a boat needs to be of marine quality. The harsh environment that marine hose is exposed to can result is quick deterioration if inferior products are used. Your boat may have a labyrinth of hoses that all have specific requirement - from bilge hose to water hoses and heater hose, they all need to be checked regularly together with their strainers & pipe fittings because any breaks or permanent kinks can not only result in leakage, but if left unchecked will result in burning out your pumps and other systems. Some marine hose damage will have even more severe consequences, damage to your fuel hose or exhaust hose could result in fire or carbon monoxide poisoning! All in all, simple maintenance of a very low cost items could save you paying a much, much higher price. |
